🟢 EWS Category

Economically Weaker Section

  • Rule: Priority is given to female-headed households, SC/ST, and disabled citizens.

🔵 LIG Category

Low Income Group

  • Annual Income: ₹3 Lakh to ₹6 Lakh
  • Max Subsidy: ₹1.80 Lakh
  • Rule: An Aadhaar-linked bank account is mandatory to receive the interest subsidy.

🟡 MIG Category

Middle Income Group

  • Annual Income: ₹6 Lakh to ₹9 Lakh
  • Max Subsidy: ₹1.80 Lakh
  • Rule: Newly included in pmay 2.0 urban. Must not have taken prior housing scheme benefits.

3 Mandatory Rules for Every Applicant

Even if you fit into the income brackets above, you must satisfy these three strict conditions to successfully complete your pmay 2.0 apply procedure:

1. The “No Pucca House” Rule:
To be eligible for pmay 2.0, neither you nor any of your immediate family members (husband, wife, unmarried sons, or unmarried daughters) can own a pucca (permanent/solid) house anywhere in India.
2. Women Empowerment (Co-Ownership):
For the EWS and LIG categories, the new house must be registered in the name of the female head of the household, or at least be jointly owned with the male head. This is a mandatory condition.
3. Aadhaar is Compulsory:
You cannot proceed with the pmay u 2.0 application without a valid Aadhaar card. It must be linked to your active mobile number and bank account.
